Jugfrau Adventure: Day 1

Summer break 2019 is coming but we have yet to finalize our vacation plan... initial plan was to visit either German or Italy. However, as we still can't use our personal car due to registration issue, we decided to focus on exploring Switzerland.  There are so many places we have not explored yet here.  One of the place is Interlaken, Off course, we have been before, but we really haven't explore it extensively.  There are so many attractions surrounding Interlaken and yet we only visited some places and limit ourselves with travelling with car.

This time, we decided to spend four days in Interlaken and the surrounding Jungfrau region. Instead of driving around this region, we decided to take the train.  You can refer to this website for info on the travel pass within Jungfau region.( https://jungfrauregion.swiss/en/summer/ ). You can buy either 3-day, 5-day and 8-day pass , and have access to most type of train; local train, mountain train, bus etc. However, for private cable car and train operators such as First, Pfingstedd or the Jungfraubahn are covered.  As for Jungraubahn, you buy special extension ride via the website at discounted price. Also, you can have special discount on selected cable cars and trains using the camping cards/hotel cards provided by your hotels/camping areas.

Streetview of Manor Farm camping area
Talking camping area, this time, we decided to stay at a camping area instead of the normal hotel (p/s: hotel in summer here is quite pricey due to high demand).  We booked a cabin for 6 people at a camping ground called Manor Farm 5 which is located at Unterseen and just about 10 minutes bus ride from Interlaken town.  The best thing is that it is located in front of the Thunersee and have about 3 public beaches! At this camping ground, there are many operators managing different types of accommodation be it tent, caravan or cabin.  We chose a cabin managed by Altogold Swiss Holidays which is owned by two lovely and friendly British couple.

On our first day here, we just explore Unterseen and Interlaken as we arrived a bit late from Geneve. What amazed us here is the color of the water at Thunersee and the river Arve that surrounding Interlaken town.  It was mesmerizing and beautiful in its own way due to the glacier melt.  Whitish as milk and bluish at the same time... when we touched the water, it felt a little bit oily due to its highly mineral content.

Jelajah Andalusia, Sepanyol - Alhambra

It's almost the end of 2009 and our tenure in Geneve almost ended! For our last trip, we decided to visit Spain!  Why Spain? In fact, we wanted to run away from the cold harsh winter time in Switzerland!  People suggested Barcelona or Madrid but we wanted to steer away from the hustle bustle of metropolitans and opted for a more relaxing and scenic trip. Thus, we decided to explore the remnants of the Islamic presence in Spain in the Andalusia. So on 21st Dec 2009, we booked our flight using Eastjet from Geneva to Malaga, Spain, the nearest airport in Andalusia and we made as our base booking an apartment there for 3 days. How nice when you can take some fresh air in front of your hotel with jean and just a t-shirt in December in Europe. To ease our movement, we rented car from Hertz to fit a family of five and picked it up at the Malaga airport itself. Coincidentally, we managed to get a sedan Citroen C4! The next day, our first itinerary was to head to the most beautifu...
