On a footed destiny…

“The foot feels the foot when it feels the ground.”
Buddha quotes (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)

-->“Patah kaki” literally described us when we started our life in Versoix. The mode of transport was a 10-minute walk to the nearest bus stop called Les Fayards. From there, we have to take a TPG (Transport Public Genevois) bus which operates almost every hour to Geneva. The journey on the V-bus would take us around 50 minutes along the countryside, down the lane and up the hill, passing by monuments, the Red Crescent HQ, the UN place and homes. -->It was winter and a 10-minute walk could feel like forever with the cold frigid wind blow against you. I could not imagine hubby going out early in the morning, walking towards the bus stop and waiting for the bus in the winter season. Sometimes, he had to brace the thick snow or the slippery black ice along the road. From his office, another 10 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop at Rue de Meyrin to take the no 9/29 bus towards Gare Cornavin, to take the V-bus towards Versoix. It’s so much horrendous when he had to carry all the groceries!
-->There was one Saturday, on our return from a family outing, we were caught in a massive downpour while walking home along the Rue de Fayards. We were drenched to the bones, hubby was pushing the stroller and I was holding Ashraf while winter rain kept on showering us. Luck was on our side coz our new friends, Azwa and Fahitah who were on the way to buy groceries saw the four us walking and kindly gave us a lift to our house. Alhamdulillah. We need to buy a car soon! The scouting for a car began!

Jelajah Andalusia, Sepanyol - Alhambra

It's almost the end of 2009 and our tenure in Geneve almost ended! For our last trip, we decided to visit Spain!  Why Spain? In fact, we wanted to run away from the cold harsh winter time in Switzerland!  People suggested Barcelona or Madrid but we wanted to steer away from the hustle bustle of metropolitans and opted for a more relaxing and scenic trip. Thus, we decided to explore the remnants of the Islamic presence in Spain in the Andalusia. So on 21st Dec 2009, we booked our flight using Eastjet from Geneva to Malaga, Spain, the nearest airport in Andalusia and we made as our base booking an apartment there for 3 days. How nice when you can take some fresh air in front of your hotel with jean and just a t-shirt in December in Europe. To ease our movement, we rented car from Hertz to fit a family of five and picked it up at the Malaga airport itself. Coincidentally, we managed to get a sedan Citroen C4! The next day, our first itinerary was to head to the most beautifu...
